Boarding and travelling with mobility aids

After notifying the driver of your intention to use the service, and once the vehicle is at a complete stop, please inform them if you require any assistance to board.

As a general rule, drivers are not allowed to leave the driver’s seat, but they can activate all the vehicle’s technical means to facilitate your entry:

  • If you have any difficulties boarding, the driver will tilt the vehicle or even activate the wheelchair ramp.
  • They can provide you with directions to the reserved seating and information about the stop you wish to get off at, if you so wish.
  • They will ensure that all mobility aids are correctly positioned on the bus, without obstructing the passage of other passengers or posing a risk to them during the journey.

In the case of passengers in wheelchairs, they should prepare to board through the central door, as this is where the access ramp is located. These doors have a ramp request button that notifies the driver of your intention to enter the bus in your wheelchair.

The driver will activate the automatic access ramp and, once it is fully in place (when the flashing lights and sounds stop), you will be able to use it to enter the vehicle.

Once inside the vehicle, go to the “PRM in wheelchairs” space and secure your wheelchair in the rearward facing position, using the support board and seat belt.

To alight the bus, give sufficient warning before reaching the stop by pressing the ramp request button, and wait again until the ramp is fully in place before disembarking.
